Vuelta, cruz, vuelta [Twist, Cross, Twist]

Greenglam

The Vuelta, Cruz, Vuelta [Twist, Cross, Twist] project by the designer Jaione Anzola seeks to showcase the importance of traditional textile techniques, such as bobbin lace, and their importance in the contemporary context of fashion, by inviting reflection on the sustainability and the cultural value of craft.

After conducting anthropological research to delve into the way that those craft skills have shaped and form part of our culture, customs and traditions, the author has created a series of textile items that will be the centrepiece of an exhibition that will also include audiovisual elements. The exhibition will be a dialogue between tradition and contemporaneity, inviting the viewer to reflect on textile innovation, sustainability and the importance of preserving traditional skills.

The exhibition is part of the Konekta Ideiak: GreenGlam II programme, run by the Estudio Bokashi technical secretariat and with the support of Bilbao City Council’s Youth Area.
