Bideotikan is a digital art festival that focusses on exhibiting, disseminating and providing education about contemporary visual arts. From 4 to 24 November, its screen circuit converts Bilbao into a digital art gallery accessible to all, projecting the works of 15 local and international artists on screens located in iconic places including Azkuna Zentroa, Bilbao Tourist Office, Ribera Market, La Perrera, Quorum Real Estate Agency and Aplimedia.
The works are integrated into the normal screen programmes, creating an ephemeral museum that surprises passers-by and invites them to delve deeper into this artistic and digital experience.
In addition to the circuit, the festival also includes workshops, round tables and audiovisual performances to encourage reflection and dialogue on the intersection of art and technology.
The 2024 edition focusses on generative art, exploring how autonomous systems can produce art using parameters set by the artists, and redefining human-machine collaboration.
Organised by Asociación Develop and Media Attack, with the support of La Caixa, Bideotikan brings together artists who experiment with machine learning, generative algorithms and creative programming to challenge and push the boundaries of artistic perception.
