Bilbao Ekintza, together with the Flemish entity Designregio Kortrijk (DKR), and in collaboration with EIDE, the Basque Design Association, has launched the 5X5® BILBAO programme, which will be presented during the development of this activity. Thanks to this programme, 5 design professionals, 3 from Bilbao and 2 from Kortrijk, will assist 5 Basque companies for a year in the development or redesign of a product or service, using design methodologies, with the aim of developing a prototype that will be presented at an exhibition in autumn 2025.
DKR is a non-profit organisation from the Kortrijk region in Flanders, which is part of the Unesco Creative Cities Network since autumn 2017, as is Bilbao, in the Design category.
The aim of this programme is to highlight the value of the design sector in the municipality and promote the use of design methodologies among SMEs, as a factor of competitiveness and innovation for them, so that the results can be exhibited and serve as a demonstration of the potential of design for other sectors.
This workshop will serve as a presentation of the programme and is addressed to the teams of the five companies and design studios participating in it.
